About Nui
If you're looking for a family law attorney in Las Vegas who will carry your case with the same discipline he brought to Division I athletics and two years of community service abroad, Nui Harris is worth a conversation.
Born and raised with deep Polynesian roots, Nui's full name — Keaunui — means "Pillar of Strength" in Hawaiian. It's a name he's spent his life earning. He swam competitively at Brigham Young University at the Division I level, then left school to serve a two-year mission in Guadalajara, Mexico, working directly with local families facing hardship. That experience — seeing up close what families go through during their hardest moments — pointed him toward family law before he ever set foot in a courtroom.
Nui earned his B.S. in Economics from Brigham Young University in 2018, with a minor in Business Management and a Spanish Language Certificate. He chose economics because it's the study of how people make decisions under pressure — the same skill set, it turns out, that defines good family law practice.
He went on to earn his J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2024, where he focused on building real courtroom and writing skills. He was a member of the Nevada Law Journal, completed coursework in Trial Advocacy and Pre-Trial Litigation, and gained firsthand judicial experience through an internship with the Honorable Margaret Pickard and an externship with the Honorable David Gibson, where he worked extensively on child dependency cases. Seeing family court from inside the judicial system gives him a perspective most attorneys his age simply don't have.
"Legal disputes often involve high emotions and uncertainty — clients can feel completely overwhelmed. I love being able to cut through the noise, build a solid strategy, and take some of that weight off their shoulders. I want every client to know they are not alone."
Since joining Rosenblum Allen Law, Nui has handled the full range of family law matters — custody, divorce, property division, guardianship, modifications, and annulments. He has successfully argued jurisdictional motions in contested custody cases and defeated post-decree motions filed years after settlement.
Why clients choose Nui: He's methodical, calm under pressure, and genuinely cares about outcomes. He speaks conversational Spanish — a meaningful advantage for Las Vegas families who prefer to navigate one of the hardest experiences of their lives in their first language. And he understands, better than most, what it means to carry a burden for someone else. He's been doing it his whole life.
Notable Case Results
Nui has handled complex family law matters across custody, property, and post-decree disputes. Below are two examples of outcomes he has achieved for clients.
An out-of-state parent claimed Nevada lacked jurisdiction because the custody order was registered in another state, creating significant safety concerns for the child. Nui successfully argued that registration does not automatically transfer jurisdiction and that Nevada remained the most convenient forum to protect the child. The court ruled in the client's favor, retaining jurisdiction.
An ex-spouse sought to reopen a 2013 Default Decree of Divorce and claim half the equity in the client's home following a refinance. Nui proved the motion was legally time-barred by nearly a decade, lacked standing on a third-party joinder claim, and mischaracterized a routine refinance as a property sale. The court denied the motion in its entirety.
