Being recognized by the American Institute of Trial Lawyers is very prestigious. Attorneys considered for recognition undergo a very competitive multi-layered screening process including nominations by other attorneys and a third party vetting process. Membership is only extended to a handful of lawyers who meet the AITL’s strict guidelines for recognition.
Attorneys selected by the AITL for the Top 40 Under 40 are deemed “rising stars” in their area of law. The AITL considers the 40 Under 40 the new faces of their specific practice areas. The AITL describes the award as “These attorneys are the up and coming top legal minds and will be making the legal field better and brighter for everyone.” The Top 40 Under 40 award is presented annually to those selected by the AITL.
